AGRAFOTOS, 2017 is an in situ installation with variable dimensions in the garden of The Athens Concert Hall. It is a text-sculpture that suggests a path with traces in pencil on the marble surfaces of the garden of the words ΚΑΠΟΤΕ (trans. SOMEΤΙΜΕ), ΠΟΥ ΔΕΝ (trans. THAT DO NOT), ΔΙΑΒΑΖΟΝΤΑΙ (trans. TO BE READ) and is in search of the active participation of the viewer to become a passenger and a reader at the same time in order to make sense. The word AGRAFOTOS is a verbal pun from the epigram* of Odysseas Elytis that derives from the combination of the ancient word ΑΓΡΑ -pronounced AGRA-- which literally means hunting and figuratively means pursuit or in search and the word ΦΩΤΟΣ -pronounced FOTOS-- which means light. The epigram, written in capital Greek with no spaces in between, can be found in Andreas Belezinis book “O OPSIMOS ELYTIS”, IKAROS PUBLISHING COMPANY, p.p.271-273 where the author analyses and reveals the hidden “ΑΓΡΑ ΦΩΤΟΣ” word play and concludes his essay with the powerful phrase “προς το κυνήγι και προς τα θήρατρα του ποιητή.”**

This phrase of Belezinis becomes the initiative of the text-sculpture PROS TA THIRATRA (LOAN), 2017 and is traced on a piece of marble found in the garden.
