Αρχειακή Εκτύπωση σε χαρτί  ματ Hahnemühle Fine art 70x105 εκ.,

* Irini Bachlitzanaki and Maria Tzanakou

Untitled, 2016 is a photograph based on the curated re-staging of a photograph* taken in 1882 in the Pennsylvania Academy of Arts where in the women's model class, primarily due to reasons of decorum, a cow was used as a substitute to the nude male model. *(credit line: Charles Bregler's Thomas Eakins Collection, purchased with the partial support of the Pew Memorial Trust).

The proposed work is also the artistic debut of BachliTzanakou, a made up character of a contemporary artist, under the name of which, artists Irini Bachlitzanaki and Maria Tzanakou will work collaboratively. Bachlitzanakou, the result of the amalgamation of the last names and practices of Bachlitzanaki and Tzanakou was created in March 2016 when the two artists were invited by Amalia Vekri to participate in an exhibition organized by Asthenia, an Athens-based Fanzine. The third edition of the zine as well as the exhibition focused on issues of identity and femininity to coincide with the 90 years from the birth of Simone De Beauvoir.

BachliTzanakou would like to thank artists: Afroditi Litti, Panos Famelis, Eva Isleifs, Olga Evangelidou, Dimitra Kondylatou, Chrysanthi Koumianaki, Maro Michalakakos, Noemi Niederhauser, Sofia Touboura, Yiannis Varouhakis, Paky Vlassopoulou, Pantelis Yiannakis
